DC Project Charity 3-Gun Match Triples Funds Raised in 2019

Women for Gun Rights Grassroots Non-Profit

Tulsa, OK, U.S. – (November 17, 2020) – The DC Project recently hosted their largest fundraiser of the year at the scenic Reveille Peak Ranch in Burnet, TX. In its second year, the annual event raised more than $100,000 for the DC Project – a Second Amendment advocacy group that encourages education versus more anti-gun legislation through in-person meetings with lawmakers. Donations from individuals, competitors, and industry companies combined to triple what the DC Project raised at the 2019 fundraising 3-Gun Team Match.

“Our outdoor industry partners and Second Amendment supporters really stepped it up this year,” said DC Project Founder, Dianna Muller.

“Through donations and participation in the Team Match, the companies and people who have contributed understand we are in the battle of our lives to preserve our right to bear arms. Proceeds support our growth at the state and local levels, and allow us to educate and recruit more advocates across the U.S.,” she said. “We sincerely thank those who contributed items and funds to our auction, and particularly those who traveled from all over the country to shoot and help run the match.”

With anti-gun groups like Everytown for Gun Safety and its offshoot, the ‘red-shirted’ Moms Demand Action, rejoicing at the recent election of so many anti-Second Amendment lawmakers, our work to #EducateNOTLegislate is more important than ever. We will keep working diligently to train our freedom-loving audience to effectively communicate our pro-gun messaging. The non-partisan culture of the DC Project encourages members of all political parties to keep the pressure on their respective legislators to remain accountable for their positions on the 2A.

he DC Project recognizes the Miculek family for their support and offers a special thanks to Jerry Miculek and O.F. Mossberg & Sons for combining our largest single donation of $10,000 from Buddy Raney out of Florida. “Since Buddy wasn’t able to attend the match, he gave his team spot to our auctioneer the country music singer, Ryan Weaver,” Muller explained. A former Army Blackhawk aviator and Gold Star family member, Ryan shot his first-ever 3-gun match under the tutelage of the ‘royal family of shooting.’

To honor and support law enforcement, “We invited police teams and asked companies from their home towns to sponsor them,” said Muller. Charles Maund Toyota of Austin, TX sponsored two teams from the Austin Police Department, Rise Armament sponsored two teams from the Tulsa Police Department, and Buck & Doe’s Mercantile sponsored a team from the San Antonio Police Department. The winning team from the Austin PD won the law enforcement challenge, and they, along with their sponsor, received trophy belt buckles.

The fun atmosphere carried over as competitors enjoyed the team aspect. Our Match Director, Aaron Hayes, built a dynamic and action-packed course of fire for shooters, and while there were some exceptionally challenging stages, the camaraderie was obvious,” she said. “All of the shooters left the match with great memories, plus a renewed sense of patriotism and 2A excitement.”
