Meet DC Project New York State Director Lauren Hartnett! She is currently on the front lines battling the pandemic as a paramedic in NYC.
Lauren is the owner of Athena Defense Training based in Staten Island, NY. She is a NRA certified instructor and trains others using the rifle, shotgun and pistol platforms. She is a Chief Range Safety Officer through the NRA and is also a certified USPSA Range Safety officer. Lauren is also a New York City hazardous materials technician and paramedic in which she uses her experiences to also teach AHA CPR/BLS.
Lauren utilizes her knowledge of the firearms and the industry to assist the DC Project in building relationships with legislators and law makers not only within New York, but throughout the United States. She does this by encouraging face-to-face meetings with lawmakers both at the state and federal level.

The DC Project is an educational, nonpartisan group of women from all 50 states who travel to Washington, DC each year to advocate for Second Amendment education over legislation. These women gun rights advocates know that gun rights are women’s rights and every woman must be prepared to be their own first responder. They are women gun owners who care about making firearms safety and education a top priority.
