REGIONAL DIRECTOR POSITION DESCRIPTION AND CODE OF ETHICS

Position Summary: The DC Project Foundation (DCPF) Regional Director oversees DCPF state directors and acts to provide support and resources for the state directors, and reports to DCPF Founder Dianna Muller

Qualifications:
1. Experience in a leadership role
2. Committed to sharing time and talents to help the mission of the DC Project Foundation and advocate for the organization through fundraising and encouraging others to get involved
3. Have a heart for 2A advocacy or passion for 2A rights
4. Willingness to use oral and verbal communication skills
5. Access to a computer, internet, and email

Responsibilities and Duties: The DCPF Regional Director represents the DCPF with dignity and decorum
1. Provide support and resources to the State Directors within an assigned region
2. Provide orientation and training to State Directors on DCPF mission, code of conduct, expectations, leading meetings, interacting with public officials, etc.
3. Communicate regularly with State Directors
a. Assist with maintenance of private State DCPF Facebook pages as administrator and shepherd
b. Conference calls, recommended one per quarter, to monitor progress, answer any questions, and clarify objectives
c. Via private Facebook page, email, and/or phone, maintain interest and encourage DCPF exposure at local events
4. Manage fundraising activities at DCPF Regional level and promote National DCPF fundraising efforts
5. Accumulate and track via spreadsheet, the work done by State Directors and any earned media (articles published, broadcast interviews, videos, etc.)
a. Work with State Director to ensure accountability with expectations and goals for State Director
6. Keep abreast of laws and proposed legislation affecting the Region, and disseminate information to State Directors
7. Communicate state needs to Founder – i.e. delegate vacancies, budget requests, hot-button issues, delegate conflicts, etc

VOLUNTEERS’ CODE OF ETHICS
As a volunteer of the DC Project Foundation as a Regional Director, I agree to abide by the policies and procedures set forth by the Foundation. I understand that I will be volunteering at my own risk and that the Foundation, its employees and affiliates, do not assume responsibility or liability for any accident, injury, or health problem which may arise from any volunteer work I perform for the Foundation. I agree that all the work I do is on a volunteer basis and I am not eligible to receive any monetary payment or reward. This DC Project Foundation Code of Ethics aims to ensure that all volunteers understand the standard of conduct required. Volunteers are always expected to uphold the Code of Ethics when carrying out their duties and interactions.

VOLUNTEERS ARE EXPECTED TO:
Be Responsible
• Carry out the duties responsibly, safely, and in a competent manner.
Be Respectful
• Respect the audience and other delegates as individuals. Help other delegates when necessary and be thoughtful about the sometimes-emotional toll of sharing difficult stories.
Be Present
• Attend to the duties diligently and with reverence to the positions and offices being visited.

Be Discerning
• Behave in the most appropriate or desirable manner during the duties that will not create liability or bring into disrepute the DC Project Foundation.
• Volunteers are expected not to assume roles in other organizations, have other personal commitments, or be in any situation that will give rise to a conflict of interest during their period of voluntary role or duties.
Be Professional
• Act as a non-partisan representative in all meetings and encounters while volunteering.

PLEASE DO
• Be aware that you are representing the DC Project Foundation and understand the mission and core values of the organization
• Be punctual for your voluntary duties
• Lead by example and be good role models for other delegates
• Dress modestly and appropriately – no clothes which are revealing, offensive, partisan, or political, etc.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy and dignity of other delegates

PLEASE DO NOT
• Act as a spokesperson for the DC Project Foundation unless prior permission or authority has been given
• Use derogatory remarks or name-calling to make a point

The mission of the DC Project Foundation is to raise awareness among community members, including legislators, that firearms safety and violence prevention are achieved through EDUCATION, not legislation; to encourage the PRESERVATION of America’s gun culture from conservation and commerce to competitive sports, hunting, and self-defense; and to highlight the diversity and rising demographic of female gun owners through ongoing ADVOCACY because gun rights are women’s rights.
